It runs on dedicated SMTP infrastructure with free SPF/DKIM/DMARC setup, and connects via REST API or standard SMTP relay. WHAT WE DO
Transactional email is everything a marketing newsletter isn't - it's not a campaign you schedule, it's a single email fired off the instant a specific action happens. Someone logs in, and an OTP needs to land in the next few seconds. A customer checks out, and an order confirmation needs to hit their inbox before they even close the tab. This is mission-critical infrastructure, not marketing.
And speed here isn't a nice-to-have - it's the whole point. A delayed OTP isn't just an inconvenience, it's a failed transaction: the user gives up, or the OTP expires before it even arrives. A missing order confirmation turns straight into a support ticket, because the customer has no proof their payment went through. MetaReach routes transactional email through dedicated, priority SMTP infrastructure built specifically for this - not the same pipes as promotional sends - which is how OTPs consistently land in under 3 seconds.
Eight categories, each with its own delivery SLA depending on how time-sensitive it is.
| Email Type | Trigger | MetaReach Delivery SLA |
|---|---|---|
| OTP / Verification | Login, signup, 2FA, payment | Under 3 seconds - priority SMTP route |
| Order Confirmation | E-commerce checkout | Under 10 seconds - real-time trigger |
| Payment Receipt | Successful payment | Under 10 seconds - compliance-ready |
| Shipping Alert | Order dispatched/delivered | Under 30 seconds |
| Password Reset | User requests change | Under 5 seconds - secure token |
| KYC Confirmation | Document approval/rejection | Under 30 seconds - BFSI compliant |
| Appointment Reminder | 24hr, 1hr before | Scheduled delivery accurate to 60 seconds |
| Account Alert | Suspicious login, balance change | Under 5 seconds - security critical |
SPF is a DNS record that tells the world exactly which servers are allowed to send email on your domain's behalf. Without it, anyone can technically spoof your domain and send email pretending to be you - and receiving servers have no way to tell the difference. MetaReach configures this for you, free, as part of onboarding: the DNS record authorizes MetaReach's sending servers specifically, so Gmail, Outlook, and every other major inbox provider knows your OTPs and order confirmations are genuinely coming from you.
DKIM adds a cryptographic signature to every email you send, which the receiving server checks against a public key published in your DNS. It's one of the heavier signals Gmail's spam filter weighs when deciding inbox versus spam - get it wrong, or skip it, and your delivery rate suffers regardless of how good your content is. MetaReach generates the key pair and configures the DNS record for you, free, on every plan.
DMARC sits on top of SPF and DKIM, telling receiving servers what to do when an email fails either check - reject it, quarantine it, or let it through - and generates reports back to you on who's sending mail claiming to be your domain. It's a genuine layer of brand protection, catching spoofing attempts before they reach your customers. MetaReach sets the policy up and keeps an eye on it continuously.
A dedicated IP means your sending reputation is entirely your own - it's not shared with, and not affected by, any other business's sending behaviour. New IPs get warmed gradually: send volume increases in controlled steps over 2-3 weeks so inbox providers build trust in the sender before it's pushed to full scale. MetaReach manages this warm-up automatically, so it's not something you need to think about.
| Industry | Critical Transactional Emails | Why Speed Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Fintech & BFSI | OTP, payment alerts, KYC, fraud alerts | A delayed OTP is a failed transaction - sub-3-second delivery isn't optional here. |
| E-commerce | Order confirm, shipping, delivery, return | A missing order email turns straight into a support call. Needs to be real-time. |
| SaaS & IT | Signup verify, password reset, usage alert | A delayed OTP loses the user. Password reset speed is basically a security expectation now. |
| Healthcare | Appointment confirm, lab results, prescription | Delivery has to be guaranteed - a delayed result email causes genuine patient anxiety. |
| Logistics | Pickup confirm, transit update, delivery proof | 1 lakh+ emails a day at peak - needs infrastructure that just doesn't fall over. |
| EdTech | Enrollment, payment receipt, exam schedule | The enrollment email is often the customer's only proof their payment went through. |
This isn't really an either-or decision - it depends on who's on the other end and what device they're on. Here's how the two stack up.
| Factor | Transactional Email OTP | OTP SMS |
|---|---|---|
| Delivery Speed | Under 3 seconds | Under 5 seconds |
| Cost per OTP | Rs.0.0008 (lower) | Rs.0.11 (higher) |
| Works without internet | No - needs internet | Yes - works on 2G |
| Character limit | Unlimited, rich HTML | 160 characters |
| DND issues | No DND restrictions on email | OTP SMS is DND-exempt |
| Best for | Desktop flows, documents, branded experience | Mobile-first, low-data users, financial OTP |
| Recommendation | Email OTP for desktop + account actions | SMS OTP for mobile login + payments |
MetaReach generally recommends running Email and SMS OTP together rather than picking one - both from the same platform, so there's no integration overhead in supporting both. Clients who move to a combined Email+SMS OTP setup typically cut their total OTP cost by 35-40%, since email covers the bulk of desktop and low-cost sends while SMS handles the mobile and no-data cases where it's actually needed.

OTP delivery was our #1 support complaint, hands down. MetaReach moved us to a dedicated IP, fixed our DKIM, and OTP delivery went from sometimes 30 seconds to consistently under 2. Support ticket volume dropped 60% in the first month alone.
Our order confirmation emails were consistently going to spam for Outlook users. MetaReach ran a full SMTP audit, fixed our DMARC policy, moved us to a dedicated IP - Outlook inbox rate went from 40% to 98%. Abandoned cart emails saw open rates double as a result.
The REST API integration was genuinely quick - our developer had it working in 40 minutes off MetaReach's documentation alone. Password reset emails used to average 8 seconds; now it's consistently under 2. We tested against our old provider: MetaReach scored 99 out of 100 to inbox, the old one scored 71.
Automated emails triggered by user actions - OTP, order confirmation, payment receipt, password reset. Sent one at a time, and it needs a dedicated SMTP setup for delivery that's actually reliable and fast.
Under 3 seconds on MetaReach's priority routes, with sub-second processing at the SMTP level. Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo are all covered.
Yes. Dedicated IP, SPF, DKIM, DMARC - all configured free by the MetaReach team, typically within 1 business day.

REST API is the easier integration, with JSON responses and webhooks built in. SMTP relay works with basically any existing platform, no code changes needed. MetaReach supports both.
Partially. Email OTP is cheaper (Rs.0.0008 vs Rs.0.11) but needs internet. SMS works over 2G with no data. MetaReach usually recommends running both together.
